| First
real boat: 13 foot fiberglass slalom boat that gave me splinters
every time I got in. A true tribute that if you love the sport,
you can do anything.
Favorite things about boating: Surfing big fast waves,
running hard lines on easy rivers, multi-day trips, hard runs
in Wilderness or National Parks, creeking, drifting on clear glassy
water and most of all moonlight runs and surfing side by side
with some of the best people in the world. I love it all actually.
Last seasons itinerary: A week of creeking in Oregon
and California, Head Instructing for Surf Montana Kayak school,
Private Instructing for Tarkio Kayak Adventures, another week
of creeking in Canada, about 90 days of teaching and playing on
the Alberton Gorge and a few top to bottom runs on the N.F. of
the Payette.

Year: If I am lucky, more of the same. Life is good. |
Beginners
tip: Relax, strive to understand it and the river will be
your friend. Go with the flow and whenever possible, use finesse
over power. |
