Kicker
Other
wise known as: A Hit, A Jump, Booter
“We built the biggest
kicker out in the back woods and that is the biggest yard
sale I have ever had.”
A Kicker is the mound of snow that is shaped so that a snowboarder
can ride off of it and into the air… A good kicker is
a pile of snow that is shaped to provide maximum height and/or
distance for the terrain provided and does not throw the rider
off balance when going off of it.
A good kicker is hard to build
and take some serious practice but hitting one is great.
Hitting a kicker and not doing
what was planned is one of the most common injuries in snowboarding
so don’t be dumb or push too far beyond your limits.

A kicker is a jump that shoots
you high into the air to gain maximum height (usually has
a big curve to it). While, a launcher is a jump that shoots
you far to obtain maximum distance (no curve just a straight
jump).
