Learning The Trick

General Overview

An Alley Oop in the Halfpipe is when you spin a trick opposite your momentum. An Alley Oop Flat Spin 540 is spinning a 540 Alley Oop stylie while keeping the trick corked.

Preparation

Being able to do a 540 in the Pipe as well as an Alley Oop will give you a good base to start learning this trick.

Doing It

Take off straight out of the pipe. Drop your uphill shoulder down the fall line and rotate horizontally with your hips or back facing the ground. Your tips basically do a loop toward the fall line.

Finishing

You can land backwards after 360, but that is not what you're out to accomplish so keep going with the 540, dropping your tips into the transition.
