Learning The Trick
General Overview
This is how you prepare your body before you throw a trick, don't get any funny ideas.
Preparation
Get your hands low and out in front of your body, knees bent, ass over the bindings, and feet shoulder width apart.
Doing It
Always approach a jump with your hands low and out in front of your body, keep your knees bent, have your ass over the bindings (like your poppin a squat), and your feet shoulder width apart. This will lower your center of gravity, it will keep your weight centered over your skis, and most importantly it will keep you in a strong balanced position when riding up any take-off ramp. There’s nothing worse than loosing your balance before taking flight.
In order to grasp this idea, try it before you get on your skis by just jumping up off the ground. Try jumping and landing first, with your hands at your side, legs straight, and feet together. You’ll notice, if you haven’t fallen over, that you're not very stable and you naturally wanted to spread your feet and arms. Now assume the position and try it again. Much better right
