Backcountry

Other wise known as: Off-Piste

“I couldn't afford a lift ticket last weekend so we just went into the backcountry and built a big ole kicker and sessioned it all day. “

This is the backwoods. The places you would go where not a lot of others do, to do your thing, without the lines, the lifts and the hot lunches. Riding in the backcountry requires special skills and equipment.

Most people live for it, some just don't like the amount of effort involved.

Recommended gear for an afternoon in the backcountry:

  • Water Bottle or two
  • Snack - Power Bar or trail mix
  • extra insulating layer
  • Avalanche Shovel - not only for building a kicker
  • Avalanche Transceiver
  • First Aid Kit
  • Flash Light - you never know how long you could be out there
  • extra pair of warm socks
  • Camera - you have to prove your sick lines somehow
  • Toilet Paper and Matches
