Learning The Trick
General Overview
Extension from the hips, knees, ankles, and arms to launch off a jump. In other words, how you jump up with skis.
Preparation
You are going to need some sort of obstacle that will give you some air. A soft landing afterwards also helps if you're just learning.
Doing It
Head towards your ramp with some speed.
At the last second apply force onto the ramp by jumping up. Extension should come from the hips, knees, ankles, and arms. A good pop will set you up perfectly for any trick. Planting your poles at the top of the jump should also help to improve your Pop and your timing.
Finishing
What do you need to know to 'stick' the trick?
Mastering The Trick
Common Mistakes
What do you not do?
General Tips
- Timing is everything here. Be patient and wait until the crest or the lip of the take-off ramp. If you pop too early you can loose your balance and your amplitude.
- Also, don’t try and pop too hard, this can throw you off as well.
